RSE Scramble 05!
Late late gotta do M2FGPS busy busy.

In reward for her victory, Wattson gives Anti the Dynamo Badge. While Anti air-guitars and Toadstool performs a breakdancing headspin, Wattson says that possession of his badge allows the use of Rock Smash outside of battle. Now Spaz comes out and starts doing the cabbage patch, for there will be much breaking of stuff today.

As Anti exits the gym, she notices there seems to be some sort of a commotion in the city. Only seconds later she discovers the source, as a bunch of wild Arons start ravenously chewing the side of a building. The same is happening to most of the metal-plated dwellings of Mauville, with citizens running around screaming to set the scene nicely.

Wattson comes out of the gym as well, and sees the destruction. "Oh poop! The Aron population is especially large this year, so it was only a matter of time before their natural food source became low. Something has to be done!"

Always willing and eager, Anti is already on the case--lounging in a lawn chair with a pair of cool shades, drinking an ice-cold soda, while Spaz fans her with a broad leaf. She takes a long pull of her carbonated beverage while watching the mayhem; now this is the life!

The calamity suddenly takes a turn for the unexpected, however, as another figure enters the scene: stout, grey, and pointing unerringly northward. The Aron's metallic jaws clamp only air as they are pulled away from the yummy structural smorgasbord toward the figure, which seems to be concentrating furiously.

Anti slides the cool shades partway down her nose and quirks an eyebrow. "The Hell is THAT thing?"

"It's a Nosepass," Wattson answers, laughing in relief. "Wahaha! Just what we need at a time like this! You see, Nosepass is like a living magnet--it'll pull in anything metallic, like those Aron, and..." His laughter dies instantly. "Oh dear."

Anti's eyes are on the Nosepass, and in the next few seconds, she becomes transfixed. The screams of Arons fill the air as the Nosepass pulls them toward it and promptly begins to chow down.

Her jaw falls slack, and she breathes out reverently, "Awesome."

While Wattson stares at the grisly scene in horror, Anti jumps up from the lounge chair and dashes toward the Nosepass. "MUST. HAVE."

She sends out Chester to play patty-cake with the Nosepass (Hint: Doubleslap) while she digs out one of those thankless Great Balls she got from Devon Guy. When the Nosepass is sufficiently distracted, Anti throws, and captures it without a hitch.

Now that the immediate threat is gone, the spooked Arons all stampede out of the city. Wattson approaches Anti and gives her a good-natured clap on the shoulder.

"Wahahaha! You saved Mauville City. Thanks a bunch!"

"Yeah that's nice." Anti is busy examining her new Pokemon's stats; it's an Impish female, so she decides to nickname her Bipolar. "Gotta go now. So much butt to kick, so little time."

With Spaz's newly gained ability to smash things whenever and wherever he pleases, he runs in circles around Anti's feet, eager to start doing just that. Anti almost trips over the little bugger as she makes her way up Route 111.

A short time later, she stops and points ahead of her. "Okay boy, go get 'em!"

Spaz Rock Smashes with gusto.

After Anti returns Spaz to his ball (probably still screaming in pain), she continues her adventure. Not much further along, she spots a television reporter and her trusty cameraman. The reporter waves to Anti, smiling invitingly. Anti walks on by.

"HELLO TRAINER!" The reporter, Gabby, is suddenly in front of Anti, practically sticking a microphone up her nose, while the cameraman, Ty, has his lens inches from invading Anti's eye socket. "You look strong! Would you like to battle?"

Anti takes a large step backward to reaffirm her personal space, and sends out Bipolar and Chester. "Dude. Go away."

Her team pounds Gabby and Ty's Pokemon into the dirt. Choking on the dust of the aftermath, Gabby asks Anti for a succinct summary of her feelings on the battle. Anti returns her Pokemon and walks off, replying, "That was just friggin' SAD."

Anti continues up Route 111, but when she tries to pass through the desert portion, she gets blown back by the Sandstorm of Linearity. Irritated, she takes a detour west to Route 112 through Fiery Path. She has to recall Bipolar to her ball several times, as the Nosepass keeps coming out on her own to get high on the natural gas spewing up from underneath the cave floor.

After she emerges from the cave, Anti finds a kid staring at a tree. The kid shoves a TM in her hands and Anti is suddenly inducted into the Secret Power club, and the kid leaves, never to be seen again. He did say something about being able to make Secret Bases with it, and Anti figures she'll have to look into it later.

Thanks to traveling all this way and trouncing every trainer they meet, Anti and her team are pooped. Anti finds a quaint little cottage behind a Cut tree on the side of the road, and enters it to see if she can find anything to loot. Inside is a kindly old woman, who invites Anti and her team to rest for the night. Seeing no reason not to take advantage of this selfless offer, Anti accepts.

Anti and her Pokemon team are sent screaming off into the wee hours of the morning as the little old lady reveals her true intentions. The elderly woman calls out the door after them, still holding a piece of overlarge cutlery stained and rusted with the blood of a thousand children and Pokemon, "Oh no, you poor dears still look tired! Why don't you rest up a little more? Yes! I think you should do just that..."

She keeps running until she suddenly slips and lands face-first in a clump of tall grass covered thickly in ash. Getting up and spitting out the stuff, she finds herself in a field constantly covered in a never-ending ash fall from the very active Mt. Chimney. There are trainers even in a place like this, however, and Chester soon finds himself experienced enough to use Faint Attack. Remembering that her cool shades have an additional benefit for Pokemon, Anti hands her pair off to Chester.

Anti finds Fallarbor Town at the end of Route 113, and she finally gets the chance to wash off the ash of today and the dust of yesterday. There's really nothing to note in this town, aside from the crotchety old man complaining about some thugs coming through recently, and Anti continues on west and south.

She finds Meteor Falls on the way, and enjoys the cool reprieve from the sunny heat outside. She sprays on a Repel, figuring that'll keep all the cave's annoyances away, but more show up anyway. She finds some dude called Professor Cozmo being accosted by some generic thugs. Anti thinks she knows these guys, even though they're dressed in what appear to be red anthro ear-hoods. They pull childish faces at Cozmo and run off with his prized meteorite, trampling over Anti in the process.

Archie shows up with Team Aqua to notice Anti's mangled remains, but more importantly, the fact that Magma's flown the coop for Mt. Chimney, and they give chase, thankfully missing Anti. Intent on revenge, she drags herself back the way she came, leaving Cozmo to stare helplessly after her.

Anti arrives at Mt. Chimney in record time. She sends out all her Pokemon at once, and with Spaz standing atop her head, the two of them command together: "KILL!"

The dust cloud of fighting already provided by Magma holding off Aqua's lesser forces escalates into a big ball of violence as Anti's Pokemon enter the fray. Toadstool Headbutts a Poochyena over the volcano's crater, and an unearthly scream soon follows. Somnolent uses his Psychic powers to turn a Numel upside-down over its trainer, dousing them with the magma inside its back. Chester pierces the heavens with Doubleslap, and Bipolar buries her enemies in boulders.

Anti and her team beats their way through the Magma members to their leader, a guy with stupid hair standing way too close to the edge of the crater. He's stuffing the stolen meteorite into some kind of machine, muttering to himself about some grand design.

"Yoink," says Anti, casually stealing back the meteorite.

"What?! HEY!" Magma Leader Maxie seethes. "You're not supposed to DO that yet!"

"Yet? So I was gonna do it anyway," Anti replies, tossing the meteorite from hand to hand.

Maxie double-takes. "No--I mean--UGH." He throws a Poke Ball. "Mightyena!"

Anti's Pokemon whoop Maxie's team soundly, and Maxie, promising revenge, takes his lackeys and runs like Hell down the mountainside. Relieved from their tense situation thanks to Anti's intrusion, Archie thanks her on Aqua's behalf. Anti threatens him with the same treatment he just gave Magma, and once again, Archie assures her that it isn't time to fight yet, and leaves.
